it must be the season for long-lost relatives to come out of the woodwork. following hot on the heels of my half-brother justin a couple of months ago, we've been contacted by the daughter of my maternal grandfather's brother, who was given up for adoption more that thirty years ago.
so, we had lunch at mures upper deck (which was nice), with a big group of rellies (which was awkward as always). araeblla tried to launch herself into my mum's grilled blue-eye, so i am going to start her on solids tomorrow (i use solids in its loosest sense...mmm... lukewarm runny rice cereal...). she also scored $50 for xmas from my gran's niece (or is it aunt? one of those inadequately identified oldies who hang around at xmas). i think i will buy her a book (wind in the willows?). went to babyworld and bought a pram for katy and gareth's baby, and accidently bought sunhats and a few outfits for miz bella while we were there.
i am going into town tomorrow (yay for taking a pram into the pre-xmas consumer feeding frenzy!), to meet my ex for coffee. and to buy organic hippy brown rice baby cereal. and a copy of amy tan's 'saving fish from drowning' for xmas. ooh! must go to stoneman's to find mama's apricot trees!
it was our first wedding anniversary yesterday! we went down to tahune, which was wikkid and much cool (literally! v v breezy!), and then to hastings cave. much prettiness! and we bought lots of raspberries from a roadside hippy outside geeveston on the way home.

have decided to make yummy boozy berry trifle for xmas lunch, and maybe a pav.

mmm...
