wootage! tomorrow after work i am running away for the weekend! not quite as exiting as going to melbourne for the Big Day Out, but i will be a three hour drive away from all my responsibilities! see, this is howw desperately in need of a holiday i am, that three days in latrobe commiserating with my friend ian (who's 6 year marriage just went up in flames) about the foolishness of getting married in your 20s is something to look forward to. *sigh* but, he has goats & ducks & stuff, & we're going to try to tame his vegie garden (home at the moment to chooks and 2 year old leeks), & go oyster picking, & listen to the hottest 100 & generally chill out. well, at least i'll be 250 kms away from nappies and washing and scraping food off the floor (heh, that will be wayne's province for the weekend!). i will also be 250 kms away from my baby, which will probably make me cry and come home early, but i'm ignoring that for the moment.

1)i dance around my kitchen singing along to the beach boys every saturday morning while i make pancakes for arabella and me.
2)i cannot stand having anything sticky on my fingers (and keep your smarmy comments to yourselves!)
3)when i was 14 i nearly severed all the tendons in my sister's left hand with the kitchen knife. i blame her entirely.
4)in grade 9, my friend martin made a ring out of clay in art class and asked me to marry him.
5)the first time i saw 'the rocky horror picture show' i was 3, and i had nightmares for years (but not about frank n furter, it was the scene where everyone gets turned into statues that really scared me).
6)i have a birthmark on my left hand.
7)i once got a 'c' for reading in a high school english class, despite reading 150 during the year, because i refused to stand in front of the class and present a book report every week, and pretended to read to same book all year.
8)i have an older half-brother called justin
9)despite the relaxed and confidant front i present, the responsibility i bear arabella scares the willies out of me sometimes, and i spend a great deal of time and energy thinking about how not to fuck this up too badly.
10)when i was in primary school, i was a sprint and middle distance champion (and not too shabby on long distance either, but i used to get bored
