I couldn't really bitchslap him, I like him too much. I will quietly and calmly explain to him what has happened and suggest that the proper procedures be followed in the future. As to the other thing... I will try and catch up with her at the next event (I'd rather do this in person, email is too open to interpretation). She behaved so badly in the lead up to 12th Night that one of her fellow Pels offered to have a word to her (it escapes my mind whether he actually managed to speak to her). I think a large part of the reason I'm finding this so upsetting is that she and I used to be such good friends.
