Is it actually illegal to kill your ex-husband?

Yes. But wait a few months and you'll be able to get off with a plea of post-natal depression. You might want to delete this comment if you plan to follow this advice ...

Afraid so. What's happened?

[identity profile] mrsbrown.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Probably a good thing really.

I've always consoled myself with the observation that I was very sensible to have left that relationship.

Only if he's listed on the books somewhere as human (e.g. has a birth certificate or other official document acknowledging his existence, such as the paperwork you filed when marrying in the first place and divorcing in the second). The laws don't distinguish between types of relationships, they just say we can't kill anyone without suffering the consequences of much paperwork, and a potential trial followed by the possibility of time off of work residing full time in a fully catered facility, which doesn't come with important things like 24/7 internet access.

Oh...issues with child support and mobile phones being switched off...

[identity profile] glass-violet.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, good point. I'm going to Hobart on Tuesday to get my tax return done, maybe I'll drop by and surprised him...there'll be no need for bloodshed if he hasn't spent the money he owes me...
I'm updating from the couch!
*is overcome with novelty*

Hurrah for the laptop! And if he has spent it, repossess whatever he spent it on. Even if it's a leg. It's YOUR leg.

Well, self-defense is not murder... you're defending.. your sanity?

[identity profile] glass-violet.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
I got a tip-off from our pointy hats that he was at their house helping with famr-work so I phoned and shouted and now I'm meeting him on Tuesday to extract a month's worth of money out of him. I will not think about how that will be almost exactly the amount of money required to buy Torchwood Season 1...

It's not murder if it was an accident...
and you were nowhere near there at the time...
*nods*

That's true...
